Tiny Thunderbird Gets Incredible Tuning from Hot Wheels

Special Ford Thunderbird Model from Hot Wheels

Hot Wheels, together with artist Kenny Scharf, has introduced a limited series of die-cast models of the 1970 Ford Thunderbird. Pre-orders will start on June 9 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. The regular version will cost $35, while models signed by Scharf will be $300.

The 1:64 scale model is executed in bright blue colors with red accents. The body features depictions of fantastic creatures, and the design includes eight side exhaust pipes. Only 100 copies will be signed by the author and packaged in a special case.

Full-Size Prototype

Pfitzer Designs from California created a full-size replica of this Thunderbird. The car received the same paint, a custom hood, an updated suspension, and American Racing 500 wheels with BF Goodrich Silvertown Redline tires.

This collectible model is a real find for fans of retro cars. While regular Hot Wheels are inexpensive, this Thunderbird will become an exceptional exhibit in a collection. And the signed versions are also a valuable investment item.
