The pandemic and the associated widespread quarantines have radically changed the lives of almost everyone. On top of this, the issue of vaccination and restrictions for those who are not vaccinated arose. All this stimulated domestic tourism in all countries, including Ukraine.

However, there is not always an opportunity (or desire) to go somewhere far, for example, to the Carpathians. Especially if it’s about a weekend getaway and/or a mini-vacation for a few days. And here arises the question of where to go by car, where the best SPA is, and what’s interesting nearby home. We have already talked about the TOP-5 most picturesque highland villages for a holiday in the Carpathians, and today we will talk about locations and interesting places not far from Kyiv, specifically in the Chernihiv region.
Chernihiv
Let’s start with the fact that Chernihiv itself is worth visiting. In particular, this is especially relevant now—autumn makes it even more colorful, and over the years the city has become noticeably tidier and more well-kept.

Additionally, the roads towards Chernihiv (except for a few repaired sections) are now such that you can safely go there in almost any car, even with a low clearance.
Vacation 200 km from Kyiv
For most residents of Kyiv, a distance of 200 km is considered a “golden mean”—the road doesn’t take much time, and there’s a sense of travel, not just another trip. Considering that traffic jams in the capital can take 2, 3, or even 4 hours, two hundred kilometers in a car “straight” can be covered in 3 hours without tiring the driver and passengers.
Where to Relax with the Whole Family on a Weekend Near Kyiv
Suburban SPA complexes are now available in a great variety, but most do not stand out with anything special. But considering the popularity of social networks and Instagram, more people want to go where not only can they relax comfortably but also take photos. And in this case, there is one alternative-free option that allows you to feel like going abroad without leaving Ukraine. And this is no exaggeration…

Abroad in Ukraine
Looking at these photos, it’s hard to believe that you’re not in Japan, but in Ukraine. And it’s not even far from Kyiv, in the Chernihiv region. Here is where the eco-hotel Brech is located, which is unique in everything—from architecture to its location.

The unique hotel complex is among the TOP-10 European Hanoverian horse breeders and can surprise even the most spoiled tourists.

Brech
The complex’s territory is arranged so that guests can feel as if they are in several corners of the world, from Asia to the Alps. Japanese houses, “mountain” chalets, Carpathian log cabins… There is even a version of Versailles in the Brech complex.

Perhaps even in a month, it would be hard to visit all the thematic photo zones available in the eco-hotel. Let us emphasize once again: in the Chernihiv region!
In addition to accommodations for every taste, color, and budget, there is not only where to walk (and even get tired), but also what to do. Pools, saunas, hammams, personal spa programs—urbanites will definitely appreciate this, as well as the opportunity to fish on a large lake in the forest, where you can independently reach by rental quad bike (in winter, by snowmobile). There are also electric bikes, skis, and others for rent. Of course, there is an opportunity to ride horses or simply admire these graceful animals during performances.

Relaxation with Children Near Kyiv
Before the autumn season, in addition to adult entertainment (although there were and are children’s playgrounds), a huge children’s center has opened in Brech (such even do not exist in all districts of Kyiv), where a child will have something to do for the whole day, while parents can go for spa treatments (animators will look after the children) or play bowling or billiards.
It should be noted that the diet includes a separate children’s menu. By the way, there are three restaurants in Brech, and the choice of dishes ranges from pizza with cola to exquisite delicacies, including homemade food and even game from nearby hunting grounds.
For more details on the menu, entertainment, spa treatments, and other activities, as well as to book accommodation, visit the brech.ua website.
And on the way back…
Considering the area of the Brech country complex and the number of additional services, it is unlikely you would even need to leave the eco-hotel. But on the way back to Kyiv, it is strongly recommended to visit the Mena Zoo—few know about it, but it is indeed very colorful and homely cozy.
