October 4-6, hundreds of rare cars will gather at Ukraine’s largest technical festival, Old Car Land. It will take place at the State Aviation Museum on 1 Medova Street in the capital. The event is organized by the technical classics club OldCarService.
Traditionally, all types of vehicles will be presented at the event — from bicycles to airplanes. The highlight of this year’s event will be American cars from the 50s to 70s. Most of them are rare not only on our roads but also at profile automobile events.
Among them are a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood, a 1966 Cadillac DeVille, a 1971 Plymouth Cuda, and others. Additionally, you can see the beginnings of the mass American automobile industry — we expect a Ford T, which was produced from 1908 to 1927, and a Ford A, manufactured from 1927 to 1931, at the event. Cars from the “AutoAmerica” club from Belarus will make a great addition to the collection of US cars.
The oldest participating cars are over 80 years old. The exposition will also include cars from the 1930s. Each one is operational and restored to its original state.
For example, we expect a Skoda Popular convertible, a Mercedes-Benz 170 with a wooden body frame, and the only Riley 1933 in Ukraine. This will be the first appearance in the capital of a racing car of this English brand, which no longer exists.
For the first time, the most powerful KrAZ-5450 in history with a tank engine will visit our event. It has participated in international competitions representing Ukraine.
At the festival, you can not only see retro cars but also fully immerse yourself in history. This will be facilitated by reconstructions of battles from World War II using equipment, a historical rugby match from the 1940s, an interesting exhibition from “Chernobyl Tour” with devices and vehicles like those that participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster. An unforgettable sight will be fashion shows of clothing collections from the 1930s, 50s, and 70s.
Also – a contest of elegance — where the owners of retro cars dress in the attire of the era of their car’s production.
Children will be able to participate in pedal car races. Adults can watch the start of a retro car rally and a professional drift show. Everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food at festival restaurant points and take plenty of photos against the backdrop of the largest display of planes and cars!
THE FESTIVAL WILL OPERATE DAILY FROM 09:00 — 19:00. TICKET PRICE – 150 UAH. Admission is free for children under 12 and combat veterans.
