British company GTO Engineering decided to bring the legendary 1959 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione back to life. A replica of the famous sports car will be produced on order.
In appearance and interior, the modern 250 SWB Revival (that’s what the project is called) is almost indistinguishable from its famous predecessor. It is assembled by hand, and the body is made of aluminum.
Under the hood is a replica of the Ferrari V12, with engine capacity options of 3.0 liters, as in the original, or 3.5 and 4.0 liters.
Even the weakest engine produces 280 hp.
The mechanical 5-speed gearbox, as well as the suspension and steering, were slightly modernized to improve the handling of the Ferrari 250. Additionally, enlarged brakes were installed.
For those wishing to modernize the car, a range of options is offered – air conditioning, a modern audio system, satellite navigation, and a USB port for smartphone charging.
GTO Engineering has already assembled 30 orders and each such Ferrari replica costs a million dollars.
However, the original is much more expensive: on auctions, it sells for $13-14 million. By the way, the British love such replicas, and even Jaguar and Aston Martin indulge in them.
