Lamborghini will release only 15 examples of the most powerful open-top car in history

Lamborghini Fenomeno Roadster: 15 examples of incredible power

Some anniversaries are celebrated with cake. Lamborghini, however, marks the 63rd anniversary of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s founding in 1963 by releasing a roadster with 1,065 hp. This date holds special significance for Sant’Agata, as the last digits coincide with the year of its founding. To celebrate this event, the automaker created its most powerful open-top car — the Fenomeno Roadster.

This model is an extension of the closed Fenomeno, which debuted in August 2025, but Lamborghini makes the Roadster even more exclusive. Production is limited to just 15 cars, half the number of the already sold-out 30 Fenomeno coupes.

Design and Aerodynamics

The Fenomeno Roadster has no folding roof, removable panels, or targa system. The car is completely open, and Lamborghini’s designers used this freedom to realize ideas impossible for the coupe.

The side windows have been “chopped” for a more aggressive profile, a small carbon spoiler is located on the rear edge of the windshield to manage airflow over the cabin, and the redesigned engine cover features two aerodynamic humps behind the headrests, which also serve as rollover protection.

According to Lamborghini, meticulous work on the car’s “upper functional surfaces” and a new set of aerodynamic elements allowed the Roadster to achieve the same levels of downforce, stability, balance, and cooling as the coupe. The company also claims the weight increase due to the lack of a roof is “only a few kilograms.”

The launch model features Blu Cepheus color combined with Rosso Mars accents and plenty of exposed carbon fiber. This color scheme pays homage to the red and blue colors of Bologna and echoes the 1968 Miura Roadster — the first open-top Lamborghini.

Inside, the cabin is finished in a black and red theme with Y-shaped graphic details and intricate contrasting stitching, entirely consistent with the brand’s current design language.

Electrified Power

Like the standard Fenomeno, the Roadster is built on a carbon fiber monocoque and is equipped with the most powerful V12 in Lamborghini history. The naturally aspirated 6.5-liter engine produces 824 hp (614 kW) and 725 Nm of torque, working in conjunction with three electric motors. Two are located on the front axle, and the third is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. All are powered by a 7 kWh battery.

Total output is 1,065 hp (794 kW), surpassing the Revuelto’s 1,001 hp (747 kW). Performance is nearly identical to the Fenomeno coupe: acceleration to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, just 0.1 seconds slower. Top speed exceeds 340 km/h, compared to 350 km/h for the coupe.

Another Special Roadster

While the price for the 15 examples has not been officially announced, the Fenomeno Roadster follows the ultra-exclusive Reventon, Veneno, Centenario, and Sián roadsters, becoming a collector’s item.

It is not yet known whether the production Revuelto will receive an open-top version in the near future. What is known is that Lamborghini is currently working on the Temerario Spyder with a rigid folding roof and a V8 hybrid setup.

This car is not just an anniversary model but also a demonstration of the brand’s technological evolution. The combination of a naturally aspirated V12 with a powerful electrical system allows for impressive performance while maintaining the emotional component inherent to Lamborghini. The limited production run of 15 units makes the Fenomeno Roadster not only a technical achievement but also an attractive investment asset for the most discerning collectors. It is worth noting that the company continues to expand its lineup of hybrid models, and the appearance of an open-top version of the Temerario signals a strategic course towards electrification without losing dynamism and exclusivity.
