Land Cruiser Breaks Through Shopping Mall

Stolen Land Cruiser Drives Through Melbourne Shopping Mall

On a normal day, shopping malls are filled with shoppers, but yesterday, something unusual happened at the Northland shopping center in Melbourne. A stolen Land Cruiser 200 Series drove through the center, causing chaos.

The incident occurred around 4:00 PM when police discovered the stolen car parked near the mall. The driver had no intention of cooperating with law enforcement—instead, he hit the police car several times before beginning his escape.

Incident Details

Unlike typical getaways, the driver decided to drive right through the shopping mall itself. Smartphone footage shows the SUV nearly hitting shop windows and a rest area.

Fortunately, this part of the center was empty, so no one was injured. However, two people required assistance on site, including one woman who went into shock. Police, security, and medics quickly arrived at the scene.

This was not a targeted attack on anyone, just an attempt to escape from the police

The car was found abandoned in Northcote at 5:10 PM. The 27-year-old driver was arrested the next morning with the help of surveillance camera footage. Police also seized an electronic key reprogramming device that was used during the theft.

The SUV was stolen on June 2nd from a private residence in Ivanhoe East. The perpetrator will now have to answer for his actions.

Incidents like this serve as a reminder of the importance of safety in public places. Melbourne police are already increasing patrols to prevent similar situations in the future. Local residents are discussing the incident, expressing concern about the rise in car thefts in the region.
