Lexus Quietly Raised Prices on One of the Most Popular Family Models

Update for the 2026 Lexus TX

Lexus has introduced an updated version of the TX model for the 2026 model year, which includes a new paint color and minor equipment changes. The price of the base version starts at $57,090, with most trims becoming $500 more expensive, and the plug-in hybrid version becoming $2,300 more expensive. The updated SUV will soon arrive at dealers in seven trims with three powertrain options.

Popularity and Changes

The Lexus TX quickly became the brand’s third best-selling car, thanks to its combination of space and improved quality. In its third model year, the model has received a number of minor updates. The changes are subtle: customers can now choose a new Matador Red Mica paint color for non-sport versions, and the top plug-in hybrid TX 550h+ has become more luxurious thanks to a panoramic glass roof.

Prices and Trims

Prices have increased: the base TX 350 now costs $57,090 (previously $56,590), the TX 500h starts at $70,610 (plus $500), and the TX 550h+ is $2,300 more expensive at $80,960, which is likely explained by the addition of the panoramic roof. Despite minor changes, the 2026 Lexus TX lineup is quite broad, offering seven trims and three types of powertrains.

Powertrains

Available engine options include a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. The TX 500h model is equipped with a hybrid powertrain featuring a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, rear electric drive, and a small nickel-metal hydride battery, delivering a combined 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid TX 550h+ version has a 3.5-liter V6, two electric motors, and an 18.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, producing a total of 404 hp and an electric range of up to 33 miles.

Equipment and Safety

The base TX 350 is well-equipped: LED lighting, power liftgate, 20-inch wheels, a seven-seat cabin with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch multimedia system with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes a heated steering wheel and front seats, a 12-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, and wireless smartphone charging. Safety is ensured by the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, and a blind-spot monitor.
