Update for the 2026 Lexus RX
Lexus has introduced the updated RX model for the 2026 year, which includes additional standard equipment and a new exterior appearance package. A new RX 450h+ Premium trim has also appeared, which costs $6,630 less than the Luxury variant. The crossover offers three types of powertrains and starts at $51,175, which is $600 more expensive than the previous model.
Standard Equipment and Style
Lexus’s most popular vehicle has received a number of small but important updates. Buyers now receive additional standard equipment, an expanded list of hybrid versions, and a new stylistic package. The 2026 model already includes wireless smartphone charging, which is a long-awaited update for the premium crossover.
For the F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance versions, a new exterior appearance package is available, based on last year’s special Black Line series. This package offers body colors such as Ultra White, Cloudburst Gray, Iridium, Incognito, or Caviar, with black accents and black 21-inch wheels, complemented by orange brake calipers. The interior is also executed in black with gray contrast stitching.
Hybrid Lineup Expansion
The plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ lineup has been supplemented with a new Premium trim, which starts at $66,680, making it significantly more affordable compared to the Luxury variant at $73,310.
The RX 450h+ Premium trim includes a power liftgate, a moonroof, and 21-inch wheels. Buyers also get heated and ventilated front seats with NuLuxe upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14-inch multimedia system. Electrically adjustable steering wheel, ambient lighting system, and a 12-speaker audio system are additionally available.
Engines and Specifications
Lexus offers seven trims and four types of powertrains for the RX model. The base RX 350 version is equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 275 hp and 429 Nm of torque.
The hybrid 350h and 500h versions offer 246 hp and 366 hp, respectively. The plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ is equipped with a 2.5-liter engine, three electric motors, and an 18.1 kWh battery, providing a combined output of 304 hp and an electric range of up to 61 km.
Pricing Policy
Prices for the 2026 RX model start at $51,175, including a $1,450 delivery fee. This is $600 higher than the previous generation, and the increase applies to all trims.
The update for the 2026 Lexus RX demonstrates how the manufacturer is responding to market needs by adding more standard equipment and expanding the list of available options. However, the price increase may affect the model’s competitiveness in the face of growing competition in the premium crossover segment.
