Lexus Attached Two Tennis Players to the Roof of a Car and Drove with Them

Lexus Sets Two World Records for Tennis on Moving Cars

Lexus, known for its reliable and practical cars, decided to surprise the public with an unusual experiment. The company organized a tennis match on the roofs of two moving NX crossovers, featuring professional tennis players Jamie Murray and Laura Robson. The athletes managed to have a 101-shot rally while the cars were moving at speeds of up to 47 km/h.

To ensure safety, Lexus installed special aluminum platforms secured via the roof rack mounting points. Both tennis players were secured with four safety harnesses, and the cars were driven by professional stunt drivers. The experiment was conducted on the runway of Duxford Aerodrome.

“Tennis is a sport that requires precision, skill, and coordination, so playing on the roofs of moving cars is a real achievement!” noted Laura Robson.

After several attempts and intense work, the duo set two Guinness World Records: for the longest rally on moving cars and for the highest speed during such a match. The entire process took about two hours. Jamie Murray called this experience “the most unusual challenge” of his career.

This campaign is another example of how Lexus is trying to go beyond its conventional image, demonstrating not only reliability but also creativity. Such initiatives help the brand attract new fans and maintain interest in its models.
