Lexus LC 500h Disappears, But a New Series Emerges
Lexus is discontinuing production of the hybrid version LC 500h in 2026. However, the model is returning with a range of updates, including a new Inspiration Series. The car’s price starts from $101,700, and deliveries will begin this fall.
The hybrid version was equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, two electric motors, and a small lithium-ion battery, providing a combined output of 354 hp. Despite modest figures, the car accelerated to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and had a top speed of 155 mph. For comparison, the LC 500 with a 5.0-liter V8 produces 471 hp, accelerates to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, but consumes significantly more fuel.
Limited Inspiration Series
The new Inspiration Series will be produced in limited quantities: 200 coupes and 350 convertibles. The coupe features a matte gray color, a carbon roof, 21-inch wheels, and active rear steering. The interior is executed in black and white tones with a heated steering wheel and a premium audio system.
The convertible is distinguished by wind protection, a brownish-silver soft top, and a climate concierge system. Deliveries are expected in the fall, and the price of the convertible will reach $109,200.
These changes indicate a shift in Lexus’s focus towards more powerful and exclusive versions, while abandoning hybrid solutions for this model. The limited series is likely to become a collector’s item among brand enthusiasts.
