Updates for the 2026 Ford Bronco
Ford has announced a series of updates for the 2026 model year Bronco off-roader, which will be introduced mid-year. Despite the fact that 2027 models are already starting to arrive at dealerships, the company has decided to improve the current generation.
Return of Wildtrak as a package
The most important news was the return of the Wildtrak version, which is now available not as a separate trim level, but as an additional package. It is offered exclusively for the four-door Bronco Badlands modification.
This package, costing nearly $12,000, includes two other popular option packages: the Black Appearance Package and the Sasquatch Off-Road Package.
What the package includes
The Black Appearance package adds a black grille with a white “Bronco” script, black mirrors and door handles, as well as a black hardtop.
The Sasquatch package, known for its off-road capabilities, includes:
Powerful V6 engine
The Wildtrak package also includes a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which develops up to 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.
Other updates for the Bronco
In addition to the return of Wildtrak, Ford has introduced other mid-model-year changes. Specifically, a new Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat body paint has appeared, which previously debuted on the Mustang.
For the Raptor and Outer Banks versions, various hardtop colors are now offered, such as Avalanche Gray, Marsh Gray, Ruby Red, Velocity Blue, Desert Sand, and Orange Fury. However, the manufacturer limits the ability to order overly bright combinations, for example, a blue body with an orange roof.
Keypad for keyless entry
Ford has also brought back the popular SecuriCode option—a keypad for keyless entry to the vehicle. This $195 system appears to be available only for four-door models.
These updates demonstrate that Ford continues to actively develop the Bronco lineup, promptly respond to customer requests, and improve the vehicle, even when the next model years are already on the horizon. The emphasis on modularity, which allows customers to flexibly configure their vehicles using various packages, reflects a modern approach to automotive marketing. Particularly interesting is the decision to bring back the Wildtrak name, but in a new role—as an upgrade kit that expands the capabilities of the already powerful Badlands trim.
