by If you’re like us, the idea of falling asleep dreaming about a regular Mercedes-Benz CLK probably isn’t high on your priority list. But don’t dismiss the CLK-Class entirely, as it gave birth to some incredible performance variants, such as the CLK 63 AMG Black Series and the CLK.
Next month, one of these CLK DTM models will go up for auction and is expected to sell for between €450,000 and €550,000 (equivalent to $512,000 and $627,000 at the current exchange rate).

The CLK DTM is different from the regular CLK, and it’s defined even more aggressively than the CLK 63 Black. Built to commemorate the 2003 DTM championship victory, only 100 road-going coupes and 80 convertibles were made. When it first appeared, the CLK AMG DTM Convertible was the most dynamic four-seat convertible on the market, and it has already become a coveted collector’s item.
A Legend of High Performance in the Form of a Riddle
The bold body lines immediately make the AMG DTM visually stand out from the regular CLK, with flared front and rear fenders, enhanced fascias, and unique 19-inch and 20-inch wheels. It also features a fixed rear spoiler and distinctive dual exhaust pipes.
This particular DTM Convertible was delivered new to Germany in 2006 before being exported to South Korea and displayed in a museum. It has been in Europe since 2016 and currently has fewer than 22,000 km (~13,600 miles) on its odometer. Painted in Obsidian Black, this beast was AMG at its finest, and there will likely never be another car quite like it.

Step inside, and it becomes even more obvious how uncompromising the DTM is in its pursuit of performance. Up front, it features a set of lightweight fixed carbon-fiber sports seats upholstered in leather and blue Alcantara. As for the rear seats? Well, they practically don’t exist. AMG opted for simple Alcantara on the rear carbon-fiber frame, saving weight and making the car even more track-focused.
Under all that aggressive bodywork lies a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine capable of producing 582 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This is a car that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 300 km/h.
