Porsche has introduced a new special edition of the 911 GT3, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Porsche Design founder Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The car features unique paintwork, an exclusive interior, and a gift in the form of a watch. The model’s price starts at $387,000, and the global production is limited to 90 units.
In Honor of the Legendary Designer
Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, also known as F.A., founded Porsche Design in 1972 together with his brother. In honor of his upcoming 90th anniversary, the special Sonderwunsch division created the limited series 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche. Ferdinand’s younger son, Marc Porsche, participated in the development of the model.
This car is based on the 911 GT3 with the Touring Package. Its main external distinction is the special metallic color F. A. Green, inspired by Oak Green metallic, which was the color of Ferdinand Porsche’s own 911.
Exclusive Exterior Details
The car also received unique satin black Sport Classic wheels with center locks, featuring the 1963 Porsche crest. A special emblem with the inscription “90 F. A. Porsche” is placed on the engine air intake grille at the rear.
Interior Features
The tribute continues inside the car. The seats are upholstered in Truffle Brown Club leather, and their center inserts are made of woven fabric. The fabric pattern is inspired by F.A. Porsche’s favorite sports jacket and combines black, green, truffle brown, cream, and burgundy colors. The same fabric can be found in the glove compartment and the front luggage compartment.
The Sport Chrono clock was created under the influence of the Chronograph 1 watch, which was once made as a single piece for F.A. Porsche. The gear selector knob is made of walnut with an open-pore structure.
A gold plaque with the silhouette of the original 911, F.A. Porsche’s signature, and the inscription “ONE of 90” is placed on the dashboard. Other details include a special trim on the center console and contrasting Limestone-colored stitching.
Technical Specifications
Like the standard model, the special version is equipped with a 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine producing 502 hp (374 kW). Torque is 448 Nm.
The engine can be paired with an automatic or manual transmission. In the version with the “automatic,” the car accelerates from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and its top speed is 311 km/h.
Equipment and Accessories
Production of the cars will begin in mid-2026. Each buyer will have the opportunity for an individual consultation to personalize their car. In addition, clients will be presented with a special Weekender travel bag and an exclusive version of the Chronograph 1 watch from Porsche Design, created specifically for this occasion.
The watch has a titanium case and a black titanium bracelet, as well as an additional leather strap. It is based on the “Chronograph 1 – 1972 Limited Edition” model, which was released in 2022 for the 50th anniversary of Porsche Design. This COSC-certified chronometer features the classic Porsche Design logo, as well as Super-LumiNova coating on the hands and indices that mimics the aging effect of radium or tritium.
The Weekender bag is made from the same Truffle Brown leather as the car’s interior and is adorned with decorative Chalk Beige stitching. The front pocket of the bag is lined with the F. A. Grid-Weave fabric used in the center seat inserts. An embroidered badge with the anniversary logo is placed on the outer pocket.
The limited series of 90 cars already has its first owner — one unit is reserved for Marc Porsche. This project not only honors the legacy of one of the most influential designers in the automotive world but also demonstrates how Porsche can combine history with modern technology and exclusivity. Such collaborations between an automotive brand and a design division are becoming increasingly popular, offering clients not just a vehicle, but a complete luxury item that includes accessories and a unique story.
