Only the options of this singer cost $65,000 more than a new Porsche 911 GT3

Unique Singer 911 sold at auction: price reaches $1.2 million

Ordering a new Singer today means years of waiting before the keys are in your hands. That’s the price of admission to the club of owners of one of the most desired reimagined Porsches on the planet. Good news for the impatient and wealthy: low-mileage examples appear on the secondary market with surprising regularity, and this one is ready to drive right now.

Features of the “Michigan Order”

This creation is known as the “Michigan Order,” and while it is not one of Singer’s crazy DLS models, it is still very special. Like every Singer, the car began its life as a 911 of the 964 generation before being stripped down to bare body panels and meticulously rebuilt from the ground up.

This example was also equipped with factory options totaling $300,000 above the base order cost. That is nearly $65,000 more than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of a new 2026 Porsche 911 GT3, which is $235,800, and that is just for the optional equipment.

Repainted in the shade Resistance Blue, the car is covered in lightweight carbon fiber body panels and features contrasting Porsche lettering on the sides. It sits on Fuchs-style wheels and remained in the first owner’s collection. Although a Singer 911 is best enjoyed on an open road, this example has covered only 381 miles (613 km) since its restoration.

Stunning Interior

While the car looks special from the outside, the interior is perhaps even more impressive. It is upholstered in Cognac leather with contrasting Alabaster stitching and looks like a work of art, so it is no wonder the seller drove the car so rarely.

Beneath the bodywork lies a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine with an open velocity-stack intake manifold, paired with a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The car is not just about power; it is also equipped with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and adjustable Ohlins suspension.

Mecum has not released a pre-auction estimate, but recent comparisons show such cars are valued in the range of $1 to $1.2 million. Given the mileage, specification, and single-owner history, bidding will likely reach the upper end of that range when the lot crosses the block at Mecum’s Indy 2026 auction on May 15.

This car is a shining example of how restoration and customization can transform a classic Porsche into a true work of art and an investment asset. Despite the niche market for such cars, it demonstrates stable demand among collectors who value uniqueness, quality of execution, and limited mileage. It is worth noting that the $1.2 million price for a used example significantly exceeds the cost of even the newest production Porsche models, highlighting the exclusivity of the Singer offering. For potential buyers, this is not just a car, but an opportunity to acquire a piece of automotive history that may only appreciate in value over time.
