Only Rolls-Royce Can Create a Bonnet Using Lasers

Unique Rolls-Royce with Laser Engraving

The flagship luxury model Rolls-Royce Phantom has always been a symbol of success and reaching the pinnacle. Today, for many buyers, even this is not enough. They strive to obtain an absolutely unique, mischievous car that cannot be replicated. This is exactly what the one-of-a-kind Phantom Arabesque is.

The car was commissioned through the private Rolls-Royce office in Dubai. Its main feature became the bonnet, for the first time in the brand’s history, adorned with laser engraving. British masters have been working on this technology for the last five years, and the result turned out to be impressive, yet at the same time restrained.

The Secret of Creating a Unique Bonnet

The process of creating such a bonnet is much more complex than it might seem. First, the bonnet was painted in a dark shade, then several layers of clear lacquer were applied, with a light top layer being the final one. Such meticulous preparation provided the necessary thickness for subsequent engraving.

A complex ‘Mashrabiya’ ornament was applied to the surface, cut to a depth of only 145-190 microns, emphasizing the incredible precision of the work.

Exterior and Interior Details

The special details of this Phantom are not limited to the bonnet. The lower part of the body is finished in Diamond Black, and the upper part in a silvery shade. The car also received a hand-painted line along the body, an illuminated radiator grille with dark chrome, and an illuminated ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ figurine. Polished 22-inch wheels are also installed.

The car’s interior also has special elements. The most noticeable is the central part of the dashboard, made of ebony and Black Bolivar wood, which repeats the pattern of the engraved bonnet. The interior also uses a large amount of Selby Grey leather and black leather with black seat trim, carpets, and motifs embroidered on the headrests.

The ‘Mashrabiya’ ornament is one of the most famous and enduring design codes of the Middle East. In creating the Phantom Arabesque, we were inspired not only by its beauty but also by the privacy, light, and airflow it creates. Our goal was to interpret these qualities so that they felt both culturally grounded and unmistakably Rolls-Royce.

This project clearly demonstrates how modern technologies, such as laser engraving, combine with centuries-old traditions of hand craftsmanship and artisanal attention to detail. The creation of the Phantom Arabesque is not just the execution of an order, but a true cultural dialogue, where national Middle Eastern ornaments gain new life in the context of British automotive aristocracy. Such projects form a new dimension of luxury, where value is determined not only by materials but also by the depth of history embedded in every line.
