Key Features of the New Model
Presentation and Availability
The Lucid Gravity is a finalist for the “2026 North American SUV of the Year” award, and its position was strengthened with the introduction of the new Touring trim. The model was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show and is already available for order.
Design and Exterior
The new version positions itself below the top-tier Gravity Grand Touring variant, retaining the recognizable design. Among the features are LED lighting, a glass roof, and retractable door handles. The trim includes 20-inch wheels, an acoustic windshield, and power-operated liftgate.
Interior and Comfort
The five-seat cabin features PurLuxe upholstery and heated front seats with 12-way adjustability. The centerpiece is a 34-inch curved display along with a lower 12.6-inch touchscreen.
Additional equipment includes wireless smartphone charging, a ten-speaker audio system, and a four-zone climate control system. Ambient lighting and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are also present.
Additional Options
Numerous options are available, including leather upholstery, a third row of seats, and a premium 22-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos technology. Customers can also order a heated steering wheel and front seats with ventilation and massage functions.
Safety Technologies
The crossover comes standard with an air suspension and the DreamDrive 2 driver assistance system package. Basic functions include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane keeping assist.
The system also includes lane departure protection, front and rear cross-traffic warning, blind spot monitoring with active intervention. Additionally – a speed limit assist, traffic sign recognition, door opening warning, and automatic high beam control.
Advanced Safety Packages
Despite the comprehensive standard package, buyers can upgrade the system to DreamDrive 2 Premium or DreamDrive 2 Pro. The latter enables hands-free steering and automatic parking with remote control.
Performance and Range
The powertrain includes an 89 kWh battery and an all-wheel-drive system with two motors producing up to 560 hp. This is 268 hp less than the Grand Touring, yet the crossover accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in four seconds.
The EPA-estimated range is up to 337 miles, which is 113 miles less than the older version. However, the capability for 300 kW fast charging allows replenishing 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
Charging Features
When using the native NACS port at Tesla Supercharger stations, the charging power is limited to 220 kW. This is somewhat lower than the maximum capability but still remains a fairly fast rate.
Price and Market Position
The starting price in the USA is $79,900 excluding a $1,650 destination fee, making the model significantly more affordable than the Gravity Grand Touring priced from $94,900.
In Canada, the model will start from $113,500 including a $2,300 destination charge, a $200 documentation fee, and a $100 federal air conditioning tax.
The introduction of the more affordable Gravity Touring demonstrates Lucid’s strategy of expanding its audience by lowering the entry barrier. Although the model falls short of the top version in performance and range, it offers a balanced set of features at an attractive price. The fast charging capability, which compensates for the smaller range, is particularly noteworthy – this could be a decisive factor for city dwellers. The market success of this model could significantly impact the brand’s competitive position in the premium electric vehicle segment.
