Jaguar’s Electric GT Prepares for Debut
Jaguar is gradually recovering from a serious cyberattack, but the company is already looking to the future with optimism. The production version of the Type 00 concept is set to debut later this year, and testing is underway at the Nürburgring, where a less camouflaged prototype was spotted.
Key Model Features
Design and Technical Details
Despite the camouflage, new shots have allowed a glimpse of the front air intakes and production headlights, which turned out to be significantly larger than those on the concept car. The design generally follows previous prototypes, but the luggage compartment draws particular attention. It lacks a rear window, similar to the Polestar 4 and 5 models.
The packaging of the luggage space doesn’t look very successful: a small opening and a high sill make accessing items difficult.
Practicality and Convenience
The height of the trunk sill reaches waist level, forcing a person to bend over to retrieve items. This could be inconvenient for shorter people and women, which contradicts the image of a luxury car.
Technical Specifications
Jaguar isn’t revealing many details, but it is known that the electric GT will use the new Jaguar Electrical Architecture. The stated range is up to 430 miles, and fast charging will allow for recovering 200 miles in 15 minutes.
Jaguar’s Electric GT could become a key product for the brand, especially amid growing competition in the premium electric vehicle market. The removal of the rear window is a bold step, but it could impact practicality, which is important for GT-class buyers. The success of this model will depend not only on technical specifications but also on the balance of design, comfort, and functionality.
