Shelby introduces new versions of the Ford F-150 Raptor: over 1000 hp
Shelby, a company that has been turning powerful Fords into something incredible for decades, has introduced new versions of the 2026 F-150 Raptor and Raptor R pickups. Both models have received a significant increase in power and a serious set of off-road equipment, taking them to a level that Ram did not dare to offer in its pickup lineup.
Technical specifications and power
The base version is the Baja Raptor, which is built on the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine. Shelby adds a new air filter, Borla exhaust system, aluminum intercooler, and re-tunes the engine control unit (ECU). After all the refinements, the V6 power reaches 555 hp.
If that model isn’t enough, Shelby has also launched the Baja version for the F-150 Raptor R. In this case, the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine gets a billet aluminum throttle body, sport air filter, dual-circuit intercooler, and a new 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger, delivering “significantly more than 1000 hp.” For comparison, the standard Raptor R puts out 720 hp.
Exterior and equipment
Both models have received significant exterior changes. The most noticeable are the new 18-inch wheels with 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires. Also added are a suspension lift kit, automatic running boards, new wheel arch extensions, and a steel front bumper from Addictive Desert Designs with a large LED light bar. A Shelby roof rack with nine LED off-road lights is installed on the cab. Bright graphics complete the look of this impressive F-150.
Interior and warranty
Changes inside include aluminum sport pedals, carbon fiber accents, a serial number plaque, embroidered floor mats, and leather seat covers.
Both models — the F-150 Baja Raptor and Baja Raptor R from Shelby — come with a 3-year / 58,000 km warranty, and also retain the original Ford powertrain warranty for added peace of mind. The V6 version is available from $146,795, while the Raptor R starts at $194,795.
These new offerings from Shelby demonstrate how far one can go in modifying production pickups, turning them into true off-road monsters with extraordinary power. It is worth noting that the price of even the base Baja Raptor version significantly exceeds the cost of a standard Raptor, making these vehicles exclusive propositions for enthusiasts seeking to get the most out of their pickup. Given that Ram does not offer similar factory versions, Shelby is effectively filling the niche of ultra-powerful off-road pickups that can be purchased with an official warranty.
