Mazda Unveils Elegant Four-Door Concept Model

Key Announcement Highlights

Preparing for Japan Mobility Show 2025

With the approach of Japan Mobility Show 2025, automakers are rushing to announce their models. Mazda’s stand may not be able to compete in the number of exhibits with Suzuki, Nissan, or Toyota, but it will undoubtedly be home to one of the main highlights of the exhibition – the new Vision model with a streamlined roofline and four doors.

Concept Design and Technologies

The concept presents “a vision of future Mazda cars,” meaning its design and technologies could influence future production models. The teaser shows a significant portion of the profile, revealing frameless windows, clean surfaces, tinted shoulders, and a sloping roofline. A pair of futuristic headrests and cameras replacing mirrors can also be seen.

Stylistic Features

At first glance, the concept looks more like a low fastback but could also turn out to be a stylish crossover. The shape of the side windows and the robust D-pillar somewhat resemble the Mazda3 hatchback, while the rear conveys subtle vibes of the 2005 Ford Shelby GR-1 concept. In any case, it is clearly not an evolution of the 2023 Mazda Iconic SP concept, which will soon become a production sports car.

Philosophy and Powertrain

Mazda stated that the Vision model symbolizes its theme for this year’s Tokyo exhibition – “The Joy of Driving Nourishes a Steel Tomorrow.” This hints at the driver-oriented nature and an environmentally friendly powertrain that could be electric, hybrid, range-extender, or an internal combustion engine running on alternative fuel.

Mazda CX-5 European Version

Additional Exhibition Exhibits

The concept will be accompanied by the European version of the new Mazda CX-5 SUV, which will be presented to the public for the first time. The manufacturer will also demonstrate its own CO2 capture technology and carbon-neutral algae-based fuel to reduce emissions.

Participation in Exhibition Programs

Mazda vehicles will participate in various exhibition programs organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association. These include the CX-30 SeDV, designed for drivers with limited abilities, the classic rotary sports car RX-7, the Spirit Racing RS Future concept, as well as the production SUVs CX-60 and CX-80.

Mazda Press Conference

Mazda will hold a press conference on October 29, on the press day of the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

This announcement demonstrates how Mazda continues to balance innovation with preserving the driving experience, which has always been its hallmark. The use of alternative fuels and emission reduction technologies indicates the brand’s desire to adapt to environmental challenges without losing its identity. The debut of the European CX-5 alongside the futuristic concept underscores the company’s dual approach – combining current market offerings with long-term development prospects.
