Mercedes-AMG GT XX: One Thousand Electric ‘Horses’ and a Display Instead of Glass (Photo)

In a world where power has long ceased to be measured in liters and cylinders, and charging speed is the new religion, Mercedes has decided to remind everyone who’s the boss. Even before the official premiere, images of the new Mercedes-AMG GT XX electric supercar have leaked online — and it has every chance of becoming a new icon in the “elite lightning on wheels” segment.

This is not just a Mercedes with an electric drive. This is an AMG. Which means the same engineers who know how to infuse adrenaline into aluminum have gotten involved. According to preliminary data, the newcomer will get about 1000 hp and will compete with the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Audi RS e-tron GT, and Tesla Model S Plaid — and it seems it’s preparing to give them a run for their money.

The GT XX’s design is pure flow of wind and technology. A streamlined silhouette, a lowered roof, an aggressive “snout” grille, and lighting in the style of a “drop at speed.” And yes, at the rear — no window at all. Instead, a display where you can show messages — from a polite “Hello” to a slightly less polite “Don’t cut me off.” And yes, the spoiler is retractable, because even in 2025, some things must remain dramatic.

The interior is a space station with access only for the chosen few. A yoke instead of a conventional steering wheel, two giant displays, and a console that physically separates the driver and passenger — as if hinting: this rocket is made for an individual flight.

And under the skin — a new AMG.EV platform with an 800-volt system that provides charging speeds worthy of Formula E. The rear wheels are steerable, the suspension is pneumatic, the stabilizers are active. AMG is seriously determined to make the GT XX not only powerful but also handling to the point of “embroidery on corners”.
