Mercedes has hinted at the revival of the cabriolet version of its G-Class off-roader. The manufacturer remained reserved on details but emphasized that the iconic vehicle is evolving, and its roof will be lowered.
A teaser image shows the recognizable silhouette with an angular front end and a vertical windshield. The most significant changes are noticeable at the rear, where the folding roof appears to start immediately behind the A-pillar. The window in the area of the third pillar is absent, reminiscent of the profile of the Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet.

It is reported that the model will be available in most markets, including the USA. This is long-awaited news, considering the popularity of the G-Class in America.
Potential Debut and Technical Features
Not much is known yet, but the announcement timing suggests a possible debut at the Munich Motor Show next week. The launch is likely to occur in 2026.
The engines will most likely mirror the conventional model: a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 443 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, as well as a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.
The appearance of an all-electric EQ version with four electric motors and a 116 kWh battery is also possible. Such a configuration provides the conventional model with a combined output of 579 hp and 859 lb-ft of torque.
The return of the G-Class cabriolet version could be an important step for Mercedes, as it combines classic design with modern technology.
