Mercedes Cannot Sell Cars, So It Offers Thousands of Apartments in Dubai

Mercedes-Benz is Building a New Large-Scale Complex in Dubai

A new project, Mercedes‑Benz Places Binghatti City, is beginning to take real shape in Dubai. This will be the company’s second such complex in the city and one of the few in the world.

This “master-planned community” is conceived as a “city within a city” and is truly massive. It will include over 13,000 residential units distributed among 12 towers, totaling nearly 9 million square feet of space.

Architecture and Design

The architectural centerpiece will be a central stepped tower named Vision Iconic. It will be surrounded by 11 rectangular buildings whose design resembles high-end computer cases. The automaker notes that the towers will embody the philosophy of “Sensual Purity.” Each will be named after the brand’s concept cars, such as Vision One-Eleven, Vision Mercedes Simplex, and Vision Mercedes‑Maybach 6.

Interiors and Living Spaces

Details about interior finishes are still limited, but Mercedes‑Benz promises that the residences will be “meticulously crafted to enhance the Mercedes‑Benz brand experience in every aspect.” The use of wood, leather, and accents in black and silver tones is expected.

Landscaping and Leisure Areas

Great attention is paid to landscaping and outdoor spaces. The complex plans to create a Grand Promenade, a Picnic Grove, and a Meadow Pavilion. There will also be Crown Arena zones, family nooks called Little Marvels, and Aqua Joy areas. The latter will include family pools, infinity pools, and water play zones.

Entertainment and Sports Facilities

The complex will offer a wide range of entertainment and sports facilities. Among the planned amenities are:

This ambitious project is developing against the backdrop of a challenging year for Mercedes‑Benz, as the company’s sales fell by 10% due to tariffs, inventory issues, and increased competition in the Chinese market. Seeking new revenue streams, the automaker is increasingly turning to the real estate sector and developing premium residential complexes under its name. Projects like Binghatti City not only expand the business portfolio but also serve as a powerful branding tool, creating a physical environment that lives by the values of luxury automotive manufacturing. This points to a deeper transformation of the company from a vehicle manufacturer to a provider of a certain lifestyle for its target audience.
