Mercedes discontinues popular model

The most popular decision by Mercedes-Benz is to eliminate the A-Class from its model lineup. A new successor for this model is not anticipated, as the manufacturer will focus on the production of crossovers and SUVs.

In 2022, it was first revealed that Mercedes intended to phase out the A-Class, but this information was not officially confirmed at the time. Now, the brand’s chief technical officer, Markus Schäfer, has confirmed it. According to his statement, the lineup of compact Mercedes models will be reduced to four: CLA, GLA, GLB, and g-Class. This strategic decision was made based on the company’s desire to focus on models that will be in demand worldwide, not just in Europe.
