The 2027 Mercedes C-Class Estate Does Not Impress with Its Premium Status

Mercedes Updates the C-Class Estate

Mercedes-Benz is preparing an updated version of the C-Class estate, which is intended to be a response to the upcoming premiere of the electric BMW 3-Series in 2026. Among the key changes are an updated front-end design with star-shaped daytime running lights, but the rear lights have not yet received a similar treatment. A more expressive radiator grille and an updated MBUX multimedia system are also expected.

Prototypes of the car are already undergoing testing, with the rear lights carefully camouflaged, which may indicate unexpected design solutions. The full debut of the updated model is possible at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

Technical Updates

Inside, drivers will get an improved infotainment system and new driver assistance functions. The version being tested is equipped with a hybrid powertrain – an EQ badge is visible on the front wings. Currently, the European market offers the C300e plug-in hybrid with a range of 106 km, while the US only gets the mild-hybrid C300.

The updates may improve the efficiency of the hybrid version, making it even more attractive to buyers who are not ready to fully switch to electric vehicles. This is especially relevant in the context of the general trend towards reducing emissions and the growing popularity of alternative fuels.
