The new Lexus LM has finally gone on sale, but so far only in China. The first Lexus minivan has turned out to be, to put it mildly, not cheap. The base version costs 170 thousand dollars, and the most expensive option is $213 thousand.
Recall that the new Lexus LM 2020 is based on the Toyota Alphard. It is recognizable by its huge spindle-shaped grille and modified optics.
Interestingly, it was decided to sell the minivan to the Chinese only in black or white.
The base version has six seats, while the top-end LM has only four. In the latter case, the rear seats have electric drive, ventilation, and massage, and there is a sliding partition and a large TV separating the driver from the passengers. The equipment also includes a refrigerator, three-zone climate control, and audio with 19 speakers.
So far, all Lexus LM models are hybrid, with a 2.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine and an electric motor with a total capacity of 200 hp.
Over time, a 3.5-liter 301-hp V6 will also be available.
