Although the Mitsubishi Mirage has lost its position in the American market, it continues to be in demand in other regions. In the Philippines, this affordable model will receive an update in 2026.
The current generation Mirage appeared back in 2011, undergoing two facelifts in 2015 and 2019. After 14 years on the market, the car is inferior to modern competitors, but Mitsubishi continues to produce it for buyers looking for a simple and inexpensive solution.
Documents from the Philippine transportation department confirm that updated versions of the hatchback and sedan will be available in 2026. According to Top Gear Philippines, the technical parameters will remain unchanged, as will the trim structure.
Since the car’s dimensions have not changed, it can be assumed that external updates will be minimal or absent altogether. The hatchback in its previous form is still sold on the Philippine market, so there is a possibility that it will be brought into a unified style with the Mirage G4 sedan (known as Attrage in other countries).
Both 2026 models will receive a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with 79 hp, paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The top speed will remain at 170 km/h.
In the Philippines, the price of the Mirage starts at ₱711,000 ($12,700), and the Mirage G4 sedan starts at ₱769,000 ($13,800). It is not the most dynamic car, but for such a price it remains an attractive option for those looking for an economical vehicle.
In 2024, the model disappeared from the American market, and in Europe, where it is known as the Space Star, a similar scenario is expected. Instead of developing a new city model, Mitsubishi offers Europeans the Colt – a renamed version of the Renault Clio.
