Xiaomi’s Success in the Automotive Market
Xiaomi, being a relatively new player in the automotive industry, has already proven its innovativeness and popularity in China. The SU7 sedan and YU7 crossover models are selling very successfully. Furthermore, Xiaomi managed to surpass Porsche and Rimac with the SU7 Ultra, and soon the YU7 will also receive a high-performance version.
Testing at the Nürburgring
The new model is expected to be called the YU7 GT. It was recently spotted during testing at the Nürburgring. Xiaomi did not hide the crossover under thick camouflage, instead using a simple white-and-red wrap.
External Changes and Specifications
At first glance, the changes seem minor. The front end appears unchanged compared to the standard YU7, but upon closer inspection, extended front and rear wings are visible, allowing for wider wheels to be fitted. The test car is equipped with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, which are designed specifically for hypercars and supercars. Clearly, the YU7 GT will be fast and powerful.

Powertrain
The current Xiaomi SU7 Ultra uses three electric motors that together produce 1526 hp and 1770 Nm of torque, significantly exceeding the power of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT at 1019 hp. It is unknown whether the YU7 GT will have the same extreme power as the SU7 Ultra sedan, but it will almost certainly use a similar triple-motor system and output over 1000 hp.
Potential Achievements
If this happens, the YU7 GT is expected to be able to overtake the Audi RS Q8 Performance as the fastest SUV on the Nürburgring. To do this, it needs to post a time of less than 7:36.698. In any case, Xiaomi aims to prove that it belongs among the leaders of high-performance SUVs.
