Non-standard BMW X5 with custom design put up for sale
This BMW X5 4.8iS, which was once one of the most powerful in its generation, now looks as if it was taken from the movie “Mad Max.” An owner from the UK decided to move away from the classic design, adding radical changes to the car. The most noticeable are the custom hood with a raised center and a unique coating that imitates reptile skin.
In addition to the exterior, the car received serious technical changes: the suspension was lifted, large wheels with off-road tires were installed, and the engine was upgraded. According to the seller,
“photos do not convey all the impressiveness of this car — it needs to be seen in person”
.
Technical features and price
Under the hood is a 4.8-liter V8, which, thanks to a retuned electronic control unit, produces about 400 hp instead of the factory 355 hp. The suspension has also undergone changes: the original air suspension was replaced with springs, changing the ground clearance. Powerful Brembo brakes and a modified exhaust system for a more aggressive sound were added.
The car is offered for £24,950 (approximately $33,800). For a first-generation X5, even in such a custom execution, this is a rather high price. However, compared to the cost of similar projects a few years ago, this can be considered a relatively affordable option.
The car was used daily, and it now has over 102,000 miles on the odometer. The seller claims that the X5 has a full service history, and most components have been checked and are in good working order. Such a project will undoubtedly find its admirer among those who appreciate exclusivity and non-standard solutions in the automotive world.
