“We Made a Mistake”: Mercedes Dealership Admits Guilt After Disappearance of $350,000 AMG

Mercedes Dealer Lost G63 AMG During Transportation

A Mercedes-Benz dealership in Texas sold a powerful G63 AMG SUV to another dealer in Illinois. However, the car, worth over $347,000, never reached its new owner – it was taken by an unknown transporter.

According to representatives, the real transporter arrived for the car several days after it had already been taken. It turned out that an employee of the Texas dealer had handed over the keys to an unknown person who did not have any documents. Now both parties are suing over the refund.

The general manager of the dealership in Texas admitted: “We screwed up,” but this does not solve the problem of the loss of nearly $350,000

Similar Cases Among Premium Car Dealers

Such stories are not rare in the world of exclusive car sales. Just in recent months, several cases have been recorded where Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, and other expensive models disappeared during dealer transactions. In New Jersey, Mercedes-Benz is suing colleagues from South Carolina over a missing GLE that was also being transferred between dealers.

Interestingly, in most cases, the perpetrators act according to a similar scheme – they pose as transporters and take the car using insufficiently verified documents. This points to systemic problems in the organization of logistics between dealerships, especially when it comes to premium-class cars. The growing number of such incidents may lead to strengthened verification procedures during the transfer of vehicles between businesses.
