In the USA, a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake coupe will be sold at a Mecum auction. This 50-year-old car still impresses with its characteristics and can be safely called the most impressive classic Mustang.
The Shelby GT500 Super Snake is a one-of-a-kind build. Visually, it is no different from the Mustang GT500 of those years. But under its hood lies a racing 7-liter V8 from the legendary Ford GT40.
This engine develops 520 hp and is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. For reference: the exact same power output is found in the contemporary top-level Ford Mustang Shelby GT350.
On tests, the Ford Mustang Shelby reached 273 km/h. Of course, to withstand such speeds, new suspension springs and enhanced brakes were installed.

Carroll Shelby planned to produce a limited series of 50 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snakes, but then decided against it.
The reason is that the price of the Ford Mustang would have been $7500, which was higher than the Corvette and Porsche 911 of those years.
Although now this unique Ford Mustang is much more expensive. They plan to fetch several hundred thousand dollars for it.
