The incredible racing car Meteor 27-litre V12 Special will be sold at the Bonhams auction. As the name suggests, it is equipped with a 27-litre engine, which is a record for passenger cars.

The wonder car was built in 2001. The enormous V12 Rolls-Royce Meteor was borrowed from an old British Centurion tank. On the stand, it showed 631 hp and a locomotive-like 1965 Nm of torque.

The automatic gearbox, power steering, and disc brakes were taken from the Jaguar XJ12. The car weighs a whole 2200 kg but is nevertheless capable of reaching 328 km/h. However, the vintage narrow tires are rated for only 215-220 km/h.

Of course, this monster has an enormous appetite of 28.2-56.5 liters/100 km. So, the 113-liter tank won’t last long.
The Meteor 27-litre V12 Special looks like the old racing cars of the 30s and 40s. The aluminum body is mounted on a tubular steel frame.

The car has participated in numerous retro festivals and was even featured on a Discovery show. Now, they want to fetch about 170-230 thousand euros for it.
