Ayrton Senna’s car: history and participation in Formula 1
Chassis TG183B-05 was Senna’s first car in Formula 1. It was in this car that he started the 1984 Brazilian Grand Prix, and also took part in four rounds of the season.
At the South African Grand Prix, the Brazilian finished sixth and scored his first points in the World Championship. He achieved the same result in Belgium after a rival’s disqualification.
Toleman TG183B: specifications and condition of the car
The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter Hart 415T turbo engine and retains original design elements, including the gearshift lever. The vehicle is in working condition after restoration.
After its racing career ended, the car was kept by the team and later sold to the USA. It was later returned to the UK, and in 2017 passed to its current owner.
Over the years, the car has been used for demonstration runs and filming. Notably, it was driven by racers Martin Brundle and Pierre Gasly during events commemorating Senna.
