What the richest person in Ukraine rides now (photo)

The motorcade of the richest Ukrainian in 2021 has slightly changed. Let’s say right away – oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, even though he is a billionaire and officially the richest citizen of Ukraine, his car fleet can be called quite modest. And so is his motorcade.

Akhmetov’s motorcade has been composed solely of Mercedes cars for several years, but recently the number of cars in his lineup has increased slightly. As TopZhyr has written more than once, Rinat Leonidovich often traveled as part of two cars even before the well-known events in Donbas. However, earlier there was one identical car – with identical numbers on different letters.

That is, no “substitutes” and “tricks,” like Zelensky’s motorcade (and not only).

Akhmetov’s Cars

Ten years ago Rinat Akhmetov drove a Mercedes S-Class (W220 body), later he switched to a newer S-Class W221.

Now the richest person in Ukraine (and not only) rides a Mercedes-Maybach S650 in the W222 body. It is important to note that most Ukrainian magnates have switched to new S-Classes and Maybachs in the 223 body since last year.

Akhmetov, however, doesn’t seem to chase after cars or the updating of his park. Yes, it does get updated, but not immediately after new models are released. It seems that his environment even insists on buying next-generation models.

Anyway, there’s one pattern – the main oligarch used to ride and still rides an armored car. It doesn’t matter whether it’s old or new, it’s armored in any case. By the way, this particular specimen weighs 4870 kg. At least, that’s the weight specified in its technical passport (photo not shown), but believe it. The price? We can’t say for sure, but it’s definitely cheaper than Lukashenko’s extended Maybach, which he decided to abandon as a sign of protest.

And it’s important to note that there is always a Mercedes GL (now GLS) “tailing,” and recently – also a Mercedes Vito minivan (how many people it holds – history is silent).

But this is not the most important thing; more interestingly, previously the escort/security vehicle would have open special communication means and protection against radio-controlled explosive devices (as well as for protection of technical information). Here’s an example where you can clearly see a “Veil”-type system – this and others are identified by black buckets and antennas on the car roof, which we have detailed:

More recently, a Mercedes Vito van has been added to the escort, as the history is silent about how many people are in it.

Out of what definitely deserves special attention – the state signs. More precisely, the numbers on them. For more than a decade now, Akhmetov’s car (not the security’s, but his own) can be identified by an unremarkable (at first glance) combination of numbers. In this case, we have 1578. It would seem an ordinary number, without any pomp and circumstance…

• 0+5+7+9=21
• 1+5+7+8=21
• 7+4+5+5=21

What’s The Secret Behind Rinat Akhmetov’s Car Numbers

There are several versions:

1. The number 21 makes up 3 (2+1). According to feng shui, the number 3 sounds like ‘sang’ which means ‘live.’
2. The number 21 is the blackjack term “Blackjack.”
3. The simplest version – Rinat Akhmetov was born on the 21st.
