At the “Krakovets” checkpoint on the border with Poland, a member of parliament from OPZZh and one of the owners of FC “Dynamo Kyiv”, Hryhoriy Surkis, was detained. He was attempting to leave Ukraine and was transporting undeclared valuables, reports Ukrainska Pravda.
To be more precise, Hryhoriy Surkis was leaving in a Range Rover with license plates AA0006OH and wanted to take 13 expensive watches with him. Since they were not declared, the MP was detained. The MP stayed at the border for some time, and then finally left for Poland (he is 72 years old and is not subject to mobilization), but without the watches – they were not allowed through.
It should be noted that the Surkis brothers left Ukraine at the beginning of the war amid rumors that they took out $17.6 million in cash. According to “Ukrainska Pravda”, Hryhoriy Surkis left at that time in a Mercedes-Benz ML500, and Ihor in a Mercedes-Maybach S650. Then, the elder Surkis returned to Ukraine.
