Porsche is preparing for an attack: a new super sedan – and it’s not a German brand

Polestar 5 is being tested in Germany

Three years have passed since its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the Polestar 5 has still not entered serial production. During this time, the company has managed to introduce the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 models, but the flagship sedan remains an expected innovation.

Recent footage shows that development is ongoing. A prototype with a new white diffuser instead of a black one was recorded near the training base of the famous German club. This has led to speculation about a possible sponsorship contract between Polestar and the team.

Technical features and competitors

The Polestar 5 is positioned as a competitor to powerful premium-class electric vehicles. The model is expected to receive two electric motors with a combined output of 872 hp and a torque of 900 Nm. This will allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3 seconds.

In 2022, Polestar stated that their flagship sedan would be able to produce 872 hp and 900 Nm of torque.

The design of the Polestar 5 will retain the brand’s signature features, such as split headlights and an LED light bar at the rear. The interior will likely be executed in a minimalist style with a minimal number of physical buttons.

Despite delays in its release, the Polestar 5 could become a serious player in the high-performance electric vehicle market. Its technical specifications and design make it an interesting alternative to existing models from German manufacturers. Currently, much attention is being paid to possible sponsorship deals, which could add to the model’s popularity among sports fans.
