In the USA, an unusual 1968 Ferves Ranger SUV is up for sale. According to Autoblog, they plan to fetch at least $40,000 for the miniature car, and last year, a similar Ranger was sold for $196,000.
It’s hard to believe, but in front of us is an SUV by Ferrari. Ferves stands for Ferrari Veicoli Speciale (Ferrari Special Vehicles).
However, it has nothing to do with the company from Maranello: it was created by Carlo Ferrari, a namesake of Enzo Ferrari. About 600 of these cars were produced.
The Ferves Ranger is equipped with an 18-horsepower engine from the Fiat 500, while its chassis with independent suspension on all wheels was borrowed from the Fiat 600. The SUV by Ferrari turned out to be quite spartan – without interior trim and with a modest canvas roof.
