For the year 2021, Ukraine plans to install 220 automatic photo and video recording cameras. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov.
Currently, 48 cameras are in operation – most of them in Kyiv and the capital area, but in December they were also installed in the Lviv region. Now, automatic recording cameras will appear in all regions of Ukraine – mainly they will be placed on highways.

By the way, in 8 months of the automatic recording system’s operation, Ukrainians paid fines amounting to 210 million hryvnias. Also, in places where the cameras are installed, the number of traffic violations has decreased threefold.
Moreover, from February 15th, police cameras will be able to record vehicles driving in lanes dedicated to public transport. One has already been installed in Kyiv on Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard, 36.

In total, the National Police plans to have 600 recording complexes throughout Ukraine. By the way, the situation won’t be limited to cameras and ‘lucky letters’, because the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to significantly increase responsibility for the most serious traffic violations.
