Tired of the America 250 anniversary editions? Here’s how this Mini will surprise you

Mini introduced new special versions Cooper Heritage and Oxford Edition

Mini continues to expand its lineup of special editions, introducing the new Cooper Heritage and Oxford Edition. These models are essentially the same car, but the name was changed for the US and Canadian markets because another Oxford Edition version already exists in North America.

The new model will arrive in the US at the end of this year. The Cooper Heritage Edition is intended to honor “a true British icon that has transcended technology, efficiency, culture, and fashion.”

By the way: The new Red Line Edition from Mini costs more than the JCW it is disguised as

Design and Equipment

The special edition is based on the 2027 Cooper S 2-Door model. The car is offered in Chili Red or Indigo Sunset Blue colors with a contrasting white roof decorated with a Union Jack motif. This is complemented by white side mirrors, as well as red and white stripes on the body.

The car is equipped with 18-inch Slide Spoke alloy wheels with a two-tone finish. They feature special red, white, and blue center caps and tire valve caps depicting the flag of Great Britain.

British-themed Interior

The “king and country” theme continues inside the car. It features red, white, and blue door sill plates and special floor mats. Upon closer inspection, you can notice the Union Jack design on the steering wheel and the ignition key.

Other features include two-tone seat upholstery, contrast stitching, and a “center console lid.” The round display will also likely have a background featuring the British flag.

Technical Specifications and Price

Since the special edition is based on the Cooper S, it is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 201 hp (150 kW) and 221 lb-ft (299 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing the car to accelerate to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds.

The price in the US starts at $39,270 excluding a $1,350 destination charge. This is quite expensive, as the standard Cooper S starts at $32,800, and the JCW version costs only $38,900.

In international markets, the Oxford Edition can be based on either the Cooper C or the Cooper S. In the UK, the price starts from £30,120.

It is worth noting that Mini’s pricing policy raises questions: the special Heritage Edition costs more than the more powerful and sporty JCW. This indicates that the company is betting on exclusivity and design rather than performance. For brand enthusiasts who value British heritage and unique style, this might be a justified purchase, but from a price-to-performance ratio standpoint, the standard Cooper S or JCW looks like a more rational choice.
