Initial Expectations from Honda at the Japan Mobility Show 2025
Honda has released the first teasers for its future lineup at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, which opens on October 29. Although the company is keeping the details secret, the silhouettes in the image hint at at least nine exhibits. Not all of them will be presented for the first time, as some are already available on the market.
Confirmed Models and Electric Innovations
So far, only the Honda 0 Series Saloon and SUV prototypes have been officially confirmed. This futuristic pair of electric models is planned for production in 2026, starting with the SUV to be built in Ohio. Interestingly, the teaser shows these two 0 Series models together with a third figure, hinting at the possible presence of another electric vehicle.
Two Coupes: The Prelude and Another Mystery
The star of the show is expected to be the revived Honda Prelude in its final production version, following the nearly identical prototype from the 2023 show. A closer look at the teaser reveals two coupe silhouettes side by side, raising questions about what the second coupe might represent.
One possibility is that Honda will present the Prelude with an optional Sports Style package from its accessory range. This could be accompanied by the ON Limited Edition hybrid coupe, which features a black roof and additional accessories. Another, more intriguing scenario is the appearance of a prototype of the long-awaited Prelude Type R, though this is unlikely for now. Of course, the second silhouette could turn out to be something completely different.
Compact EVs and Kei Car Options
Another likely debut is the electric Honda N-One e:, a kei car introduced just last month. The compact hatchback could be complemented by a sportier variant, similar to the camouflaged Super EV prototype shown at Goodwood. This would be separate from the N-One e: with optional Mugen accessories, which could also appear at the show on a separate stand.
As for SUVs, local sources suggest that Honda may present the Vezel e:HEV in an RS version along with the CR-V e:HEV, which has not yet been offered on the Japanese market.
Beyond Four Wheels
Cars will not be the only attraction. Honda plans to exhibit seven motorcycles, a range of power products, and even an aircraft. The centerpiece of the aviation exhibit will be a full-scale mockup of the HondaJet Elite II small business jet cabin. On the two-wheeled side, the CUV e:, an electric commuter bicycle, and the Rebel 1100 S motorcycle, equipped with a dual-clutch transmission, are worth noting.
The company stated that it will share more detailed information about the Japan Mobility Show 2025 lineup in stages. An update is scheduled for the end of September via a dedicated Honda website. Press days for the Tokyo show will be on October 29 and 30, while the public will be able to visit from October 31 to November 9.
Honda’s preparation for the Japan Mobility Show 2025 demonstrates its multifaceted approach to the future of mobility, combining electrification, traditional models, and innovations across various transportation segments. This event could be a key moment for the brand in affirming its strategy in Japan and globally, especially given the growing competition in the electric vehicle market and the sustained interest in classic names like the Prelude.
