Toyota’s Largest SUV Has Become Even More Luxurious, But Also More Expensive

2026 Toyota Sequoia Update: Price Increases and New Features

Toyota has introduced the updated version of its full-size Sequoia SUV for the 2026 model year. The vehicle has become more expensive but has received a number of improvements in its trim levels. The base version now costs $1,600 more than before.

Among the key changes is a standard power-operated folding third-row seat for all trims. The Limited version received leather upholstery instead of the synthetic SofTex material, and the top-tier Capstone – an updated interior color scheme with elements of premium trim.

Technical Features

Under the hood, the 2026 Sequoia retains the hybrid powertrain based on a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, which produces 437 hp and 790 Nm of torque. The vehicle is offered with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, however, its fuel efficiency remains at 22 miles per gallon in the combined cycle.

Prices start from $64,025 for the base rear-wheel-drive version. The most expensive Capstone trim now costs $84,435, which is $520 more than last year.

The 2026 updates make the Sequoia more comfortable and prestigious, but do not significantly affect the technical characteristics. The price increase may become a factor that will force some buyers to consider alternative options in this segment. At the same time, improvements in interior trim and additional options increase the model’s appeal for those seeking comfort and status.
