Ford Introduces the New Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon Version
Ford has announced a new modification of the Mustang GTD called Liquid Carbon. A key feature of this version is the exposed carbon fiber bodywork, which is not hidden under paint. This not only gives the car an aggressive appearance but also reduces its weight by approximately 5.9 kg compared to the Carbon Series.
The Liquid Carbon design is impressive in its thoughtfulness: the carbon weave runs down the center of the body, and all the panels are matched to each other. Furthermore, the model has received unique Brembo brake calipers with an anodized coating and a GTD logo.
Interior and Technical Specifications
The car’s interior combines black leather with Dinamica microfiber and features contrasting green stitching and a special pattern on the seats. Other features include carbon fiber trim elements, a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13.2-inch multimedia system.
Under the hood of the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon lies a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine producing 815 horsepower. It is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing the car to reach a top speed of 325 km/h.
“Liquid Carbon is the ultimate embodiment of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech and high-performance design,” stated the project’s chief engineer, Greg Goodall.
Although the exact price of the new model has not been disclosed, it is known to already include the Performance package. The first customer deliveries will begin in October.
This version of the Mustang GTD not only showcases Ford’s innovative technologies but also emphasizes the connection between production cars and racing prototypes. The exposed carbon fiber is not just a stylistic choice but also a testament to the pursuit of maximum efficiency and speed.
