The most insane V6 sports car Ferrari will blow your face off and leave you with a smile

  • Ferrari has introduced a more powerful version of the 296 GTB model.
  • The name 296 Speciale returns after being used on the 458 car.
  • Power has increased by 49 hp to 868 hp, and weight has been reduced by 60 kg.

Ferrari has released details about the new 296 modification, and the choice of name reflects confidence in its capabilities—it comes from one of the most revered sports models of the brand over the past half-century.

The 296 Speciale and its convertible version follow the classic formula: more power, improved aerodynamics, and reduced mass. This is a car that will easily outperform the legendary naturally aspirated 458 Speciale both on the track and on the road—if you’re ready to use its full potential.

New aluminum pistons and titanium connecting rods from the F80 hypercar allowed the power of the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 to increase from 654 to 690 hp, matching the performance of the 296 Challenge track version. Even the hybrid system received updates for improved cooling and greater output.

The total power of the Speciale is 868 hp (880 PS) compared to 819 hp (830 PS) in the standard version. All this energy is delivered to the rear wheels via an 8-speed robotic gearbox with optimized shift times.

Active use of carbon fiber, including in the simplified interior, and lighter engine components have reduced the weight by 60 kg. Aerodynamics have improved by 20% thanks to new bumpers, a large diffuser, and a retractable spoiler.
