In Monaco, a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR 1955 coupe was spotted. It is the most expensive car of all time. This was reported by Focus. The Mercedes 300 SLR sports car drove through the streets of Monaco where the Formula-1 racing track is laid. The owner of the car is currently unknown, but Hungarian license plates can be seen. In 2022, this Mercedes 300 SLR coupé was sold at a closed auction for a record $142 million. Prior to this, the rare car was kept in the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart. Only two such Mercedes 300 SLR coupes with a streamlined body were produced. The lightweight (998 kg) car is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline eight-cylinder engine producing 310 horsepower with direct fuel injection and is capable of reaching 290 km/h. The coupe was prepared for racing, but in 1955, the German team left motorsport after a terrible accident involving a Mercedes at Le Mans in which 83 people were killed. After that, the car was bought back by its creator Rudolf Uhlenhaut, which is why it became known as the Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe.
