Suzuki has released the most expensive Jimny in Australia: limited edition Rhino Edition
Suzuki has launched a limited series of the Jimny XL in Australia under the name “Rhino Special Edition.” This is the most expensive Jimny the country has ever seen. The small SUV gets a unique exterior look and several interior updates, but the real highlight is the “Rhino Go Pack” and a set of branded accessories that come with it.
Design and Exterior
Unlike the previous Rhino Edition version sold in Malaysia, the Australian version is based on the five-door Jimny XL. Decorative stickers in Gloss Black and Satin Aluminum run along the car’s profile, complemented by the rhino graphics that gave the model its name. Also fitted are new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, mud flaps, a black grille with the Suzuki inscription, as well as aluminum sill plates and side skirts.
The model is available exclusively in Kinetic Yellow with a Pearl Black roof. Previously, this color was only available for the three-door Jimny in Australia, except for Queensland. It is worth noting that the five-door Jimny XL is manufactured in India, while the three-door is imported from Japan.
Interior and Equipment
Opening the door, you’ll see the rhino theme continues: there are badges on the dashboard, satin silver inserts, as well as black leather inserts with Kinetic Yellow stitching and engraved rhino logos.
Cars with a manual transmission get a retro shift knob, and each unit comes with a sturdy trunk mat, eight-color footwell lighting, and upgraded Pioneer front speakers. Standard equipment from the regular XL includes a 9-inch multimedia screen, fabric seats, and a leather steering wheel.
Technical Specifications
The special edition has received no performance or chassis upgrades compared to the regular Jimny XL, so it retains the same naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 101 hp (75 kW / 102 hp). The engine is paired with the AllGrip Pro 4WD system, with a choice of manual or automatic transmission.
Accessories and Gift Set
The “Rhino Go Pack” is designed for Jimny owners who love spending time outdoors. It includes a metal key case and keychain, a panama hat, a portable flashlight, a drink bottle, a blanket, a thermal mug, a cooler bag, and a portable Bluetooth speaker — each item bears the rhino emblem.
As a finishing touch, Suzuki added a box of Koko Black Dark Chocolate Pistachio Praline chocolates with nine pieces, packaged in a branded sleeve with the Rhino logo. Unfortunately, Australian buyers do not have access to the themed vegetarian curry dish sold in Japan.
Price and Availability
As expected, the Rhino Special Edition sits at the very top of the Australian lineup in terms of price. Specifically, it costs 44,990 Australian dollars (31,800 US dollars) with a manual transmission and 47,990 Australian dollars (33,900 US dollars) with an automatic, which is 10,000 Australian dollars (7,100 US dollars) more than a standard Jimny XL.
Suzuki will produce the Rhino Special Edition in limited numbers and notes that customer interest is already high despite the higher price. The car can be ordered throughout Australia, except for Queensland and the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, which are served by a different distributor.
Suzuki Australia
Interestingly, Suzuki decided to bet on the emotional component, adding to the car not only a unique design but also a whole set of outdoor accessories and even a box of chocolate candies. This suggests that the company is trying to create not just a vehicle, but a holistic lifestyle product for its customers. Given the limited run and high demand, this strategy seems to be working, despite the significant price increase compared to the standard version.
