The Best Mercedes in the Form of a Clown Shoe is Available for Purchase in the USA

The Powerful and Exclusive Brabus Rocket GTS

A sum of $1.4 million opens up access to the most serious cars for a buyer in the USA. For that money, one could purchase both a Lamborghini Revuelto and a new Ferrari 849 Testarossa — two of the fastest hybrid supercars on the planet. Or, for example, a whole seven new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1s. However, there is another, more extravagant path — to purchase the Brabus Rocket GTS.

On paper, spending nearly $1.4 million on a heavily modified Mercedes-AMG SL 63, whose appearance resembles an exaggerated version of the BMW Z3, does not seem like a completely rational decision. However, in the real world, this limited-series car attracts no less attention than a new Lamborghini or Ferrari, and perhaps even more — depending on how ready you are for drama on the road.

The car is offered for sale by the Brabus representative office itself in the USA and is one of the first to arrive in the country. About a year and a half has passed since the presentation of this unusual Shooting Brake-bodied version of the SL 63, and this model takes another step forward. While the original concept car was executed in classic carbon fiber, this Rocket GTS received a full paint job of its carbon-fiber body in green. It is impossible to find a production Mercedes that even remotely resembles this car.

In the sunlight, the green carbon looks simply stunning, although, undoubtedly, for some, such a design may seem too provocative. The redesigned rear end and extended roofline also evoke an ambiguous reaction, yet overall the Shooting Brake concept surprisingly harmonizes with the lines of the SL.

Extravagant Interior

The interior of this Brabus is not inferior to the exterior in terms of extravagance. Almost every centimeter of the cabin is upholstered in green leather and Alcantara, including the seats, transmission tunnel, door panels, headliner, and floor mats. The few details not covered in leather are made of green carbon fiber.

The power output is 986 hp, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes only 2.6 seconds.

Spending hypercar money on a Brabus car might seem a bit strange, but at least its performance fully justifies the price. The car received an upgraded 4.5-liter bi-turbo V8 along with the same hybrid system as the SL 63 E Performance. The stated power is 986 horsepower and torque is 1620 Nm.

According to the manufacturer, the Rocket GTS accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, to 200 km/h in 9.5 seconds, and to 300 km/h in 23.6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 317 km/h.

So, this car costs like a true hypercar, yet it looks absolutely unique on the road and moves accordingly to its price. It is a true green “challenge” for any garage.

This Brabus project clearly demonstrates how far one can go in modifying a production car, turning it into a unique object of art and engineering. Despite criticism of the design, it remains a symbol of status and a bold approach to automobile manufacturing. Such models rarely become mass-produced, but it is precisely they that shape new trends and expand the boundaries of imagination about what a sports car can be.
