Honda’s smallest electric car can power your home and more

Honda introduces the smallest electric car N-One e:

Despite its miniature size, Honda’s novelty attracted attention at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Now the production version of this compact electric car has officially debuted in Japan.

The N-One e: is an electric kei car with a characteristic design: a high roof, square shapes, and a “friendly” front-end look. The difference from the concept is that the serial version complies with strict Japanese kei car standards, which regulate everything from dimensions to power.

Technical features

Although Honda does not disclose all technical details, it is known that the car’s length does not exceed 3,400 mm, and power is limited to 63 hp. Its electric platform is likely inherited from the N-Van model, which claims a range of 245 km. Charging at 50 kW allows the battery to be filled in approximately 30 minutes.

Interior and useful functions

The interior of the N-One e: is executed in a minimalist style but is convenient to use thanks to physical buttons and a rotary volume control. The gearbox resembles the one installed on other Honda models. A separate button allows activating the one-pedal driving mode.

One of the key features is the ability to power external devices (V2L). This requires a special adapter, which can be purchased additionally. Also on the list of accessories are an LED charge indicator and a sporty styling kit.

Sales in Japan will start in September, and the model will also be shown at the IAA motor show in Munich. Unfortunately, the N-One e: will not be supplied to the USA.

This car is a great example of how electric cars can be not just vehicles, but also useful elements of everyday life. Especially in urban conditions, where compactness and functionality become decisive factors. At the same time, the absence of plans for the US market may disappoint brand fans who expected a more affordable electric Honda option.
