by During the month of August, our country was replenished with over 21 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad, reported Ukravtoprom. Compared to July 2023, the number of such registered cars increased by almost 12%. When compared to the figures from August of the previous year, the demand for imported used cars increased by 27%, setting a record for August 2022-2023. It is worth noting that last summer the possibility of duty-free import of cars was suspended, but the registration of such cars continued until August 2022. Therefore, this year’s replenishment with used cars in August was the largest in the last 12 months. Among used cars, the majority are gasoline cars – 45%. Next are diesel – 32%, electric cars – 15%, cars with gas equipment – 5%, and hybrids – 3%. Volkswagen Golf remains the leader among used cars. Most popular used cars in Ukraine (August 2023): 1. VOLKSWAGEN Golf – 1725 units; 2. RENAULT Megane – 1363 units; 3. SKODA Octavia – 952 units; 4. VOLKSWAGEN Passat – 835 units; 5. NISSAN Leaf – 505 units; 6. FORD Focus – 426 units; 7. NISSAN Qashqai – 412 units; 8. VOLKSWAGEN Tiguan – 408 units; 9. VOLKSWAGEN Touran – 375 units; 10. AUDI A4 – 365 units. The average age of registered used cars in August is 10 years. Overall, since the beginning of this year, Ukraine has registered 127 thousand used passenger cars that were imported from abroad. This is 3.3 times more than the number of new cars sold during the same period.
