Zeekr 9X Enters the European Market
In recent years, European buyers have been partially isolated from China’s best offerings, as many advanced models were not exported. But the situation is changing rapidly, and Zeekr plays an important role in this. The company has just introduced the European version of its 9X, continuing to expand its presence in the region.
Zeekr positions the 9X as a competitor to the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, the new Audi Q9, and, ambitiously, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The design of the model also invites comparisons: many have already called this crossover the “Chinese Rolls-Royce.” Whether it lives up to that status is an open question, but the technical specifications speak in its favor.
Technical Specifications and Performance
In Europe, the 9X will be offered exclusively in a six-seat configuration. It is equipped with a Super Hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. In China, the crossover produces 1,381 horsepower, but the European version will have 897 hp — still enough to surpass most competitors in the class. It is not yet known which battery Europe will receive; in China, options of 55.1 kWh and 70 kWh are available.
Thanks to the 900-volt architecture, charging from 10% to 80% takes only 9.5 minutes. The combined range on gasoline and electricity reaches 737 kilometers. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.1 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 240 km/h. The crossover can also tow a trailer weighing up to 2 tons.
Luxury and Comfort in the Cabin
The Zeekr 9X is designed for maximum luxury. The base configuration includes a 32-speaker Naim audio system and advanced driver assistance systems with lidars, already tested for European roads. There is also a 47-inch head-up display, a 13-inch multimedia screen with anti-glare coating, and a central 16-inch OLED display with 3.5K resolution.
The front and second-row seats are equipped with a massage function. For second-row passengers, a 17-inch screen descends from the ceiling trimmed in microsuede. When the screen is activated, blinds automatically close, and the interior lighting system synchronizes with what is being watched, creating a home theater effect.
Upholstery and Additional Features
The second row also includes a refrigerator and two 6.3-inch displays for controlling lighting, climate, entertainment, and seat positions. The cabin uses plenty of Nappa leather, a crystal controller on the center console, and high-quality physical switches. Prices for different markets have not yet been announced. Zeekr confirmed that the 9X will be available in Crystal White, Lava Grey, and Onyx Black colors.
The launch of the Zeekr 9X in the European market is not just another piece of news about Chinese electric vehicles. It is a signal that Chinese brands are no longer limited to cheap models but are purposefully attacking the premium segment. The reduction in power from 1,381 to 897 hp for Europe appears to be a pragmatic step to comply with local regulations while remaining competitive. Although the final price is unknown, such equipment and charging speed could seriously shake the positions of traditional German giants in this segment.
