Special Subaru Versions
Subaru has introduced two special Series.Yellow editions, based on the BRZ and WRX tS models. Both versions feature Sunrise Yellow paint, matte black wheels, and a sporty two-tone interior. Production is limited to 350 units of each model, and pricing details will be announced closer to the start of sales.
Sales Problems and New Hopes
Subaru WRX sales have dropped significantly – by 38.6% for the first eight months of 2025, amounting to only 7,499 sedans sold. However, Subaru plans to use Boxerfest in Pennsylvania to present the 2026 WRX Series.Yellow, which will be accompanied by a similar version of the BRZ.
This special edition, based on the WRX tS, has received a bright yellow body color and 19-inch matte black wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. The manufacturer emphasized that this color was previously used on the special edition XV Crosstrek in 2015, as well as on the Japanese BRZ STI Sport and WRX STI S207 models.
In addition to the exterior, the special version features Recaro front seats with yellow contrast stitching and yellow accents, which are also present on the door panels and dashboard. The car is also equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch multimedia system.
The engine is a turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer that produces 271 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. Additional benefits include adjustable STI dampers and Brembo brakes.
Coupe Version
For those looking for something less exclusive, Subaru offers the 2026 BRZ Series.Yellow. This model resembles the Japanese BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition and the Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited, the latter of which is similar to the GR86 Yuzu Edition with Yuzu Yellow paint.
The BRZ Series.Yellow features a Sunrise Yellow exterior, 18-inch matte black wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, and Brembo brakes. The interior features black upholstery with yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel, gear shift lever, and handbrake.
Technical Specifications
Technically, the coupe retains the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 hp, a six-speed manual transmission, and STI-tuned Hitachi dampers.
Both special series will be released in limited quantities – 350 units each. Pricing details will be announced shortly before sales begin.
These special editions could be an important step for Subaru in the context of growing competition in the sports car market. The yellow color, previously associated with limited series, is now becoming more accessible to American buyers, which could help improve the brand’s image and attract new customers. The limited production run also increases the exclusivity of these models, which is always valued among car enthusiasts.
