The 2026 Toyota 4Runner, arriving at dealerships this fall, will have a base price of $41,570. This is $800 more expensive than the previous model, and the delivery fee has also increased from $1,450 to $1,495.
Since the SUV was completely redesigned for the 2025 model year, the changes for the new model are minimal. Toyota announced almost nothing new but confirmed that the stabilizer disconnect system is now available as an option for the 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium trim with the i-Force Max powertrain.
After 16 years of waiting, the redesigned 4Runner is worth it
It appears that the updates end here, but the $800 price increase applies to almost all versions. Meanwhile, the 4Runner TRD Pro model has increased in price from $66,900 to $67,900, representing a $1,000 increase.
Trims and Equipment
Since the changes are minor, let’s recall that the base 4Runner SR5 trim features LED lighting, black roof rails, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is executed in a rather simple style with a 7-inch instrument cluster, an 8-inch multimedia system, and an eight-speaker audio system.
Despite the modest list of amenities, the SR5 has a whole range of standard driver assistance systems, including Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. These are complemented by Front Cross-Traffic Alert, Traffic Jam Assist, and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Other features include Automatic High Beams, Road Sign Assist, Proactive Driving Assist, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.
The vehicle is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 278 hp (207 kW) and 429 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which can be combined with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
The Top TRD Pro Version
At the opposite end of the spectrum is the most equipped 4Runner TRD Pro model, which features Rigid Industries LED fog lights, as well as a grille with the Toyota logo and an integrated LED light bar. The model also has a skid plate, a sport exhaust system, and a hands-free power rear liftgate. These are complemented by a moonroof and matte-black 18-inch wheels.
The updates continue inside, where buyers will find a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, as well as heated and ventilated front seats made of SofTex material with power adjustment. Other amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a wireless smartphone charger, and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink. Additionally, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger 14-inch multimedia system.
This model is powered by the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, which delivers 326 hp (243 kW) and 630 Nm of torque. It is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system.

Despite the slight price increase, the 4Runner remains one of the most anticipated SUVs on the market. Its popularity is explained by the combination of reliability, capability, and updated design. Given that the model has only recently undergone a complete redesign, further changes will be gradual, which is typical for the automotive market. Buyers are likely to be willing to accept a small price increase for the sake of improved features and the preservation of the brand’s high reputation.
